Not only did we have his key immediately available in stock, but we also possessed the expertise to handle an “all car keys lost” scenario for his BMW. This job is more sophisticated than many other lost key situations because it requires us to locate and remove the immobiliser module from the vehicle after gaining entry, rather than simply plugging into the vehicle’s diagnostic port and programming a key that way.
Once we had gained completely non-destructive entry into the car by picking open the door lock, we located and safely removed the immobiliser module from the vehicle. We were then ready to start the key programming procedure on-bench inside our mobile locksmith van. We programmed the new key directly to the immobiliser module using specialist EEPROM programming methods, along with deleting and programming out the lost car keys, before securely refitting the immobiliser module back in position and thoroughly testing everything.
In addition to programming the new car key for our very grateful, and dare I say, very impressed local customer, we also decoded the lock while picking the door lock. This allowed us to create the emergency car key blade situated inside the replacement remote car key, enabling manual unlocking of the door if ever needed.
